Unlike gold plated or vermeil, gold filled jewelry will not flake off or turn your skin green over time. One of my favorite things about this material is that it does not tarnish or discolor and does not require polishing, just occasionally cleaning if worn on a regular basis to remove any dirt. Gold filled jewelry is also great for people with sensitive skin as the thick layer of gold prevents the base metal from coming in contact with your skin.
